Wheel Wash

Wheel Wash Systems for Construction Sites, Quarries and Industrial Environments

Heavy-Duty Wheel Wash Solutions for Cleaner, More Efficient Construction Sites

Construction sites can easily transfer mud, dust, debris and contaminants onto public roads, creating site management challenges and pushing operators to maintain cleaner and more responsibile working environments.

Founded on decades of innovation and expertise, Tecnoter’s heavy-duty wheel wash systems are designed to help sites reduce mud tracking, support environmental compliance objectives and maintain cleaner site exits through innovative water recycling technology and robust engineering.

Why Do Construction Sites Need Wheel Wash Systems?

As projects become increasingly more complex and environmental regulations get stricter, keeping your site clean and complient has never been more important.

Without effective wheel wash solutions, vehicles leaving sites can spread mud, debris and contaminants, leading to:

Tecnoter’s wheel wash systems help site operators implement cleaner, more efficient vehicle exit procedures, designed for high-traffic, demanding industrial environments.

Why Choose Tecnoter Wheel Wash Systems?

Support cleaner site operations

Automatic wheel wash systems help to remove mud, debris and contaminants from wheels and undercarriages before they leave sites.

Reduce water consumption

Advanced closed-loop water reclamation can treat water and reduce demand on fresh water, supporting environmental compliance objectives.

Built for construction environments

Tecnoter’s wheel washers are made with rugged steel structures for extreme site environments. The systems are reliable in all weather conditions – even sub-zero temperatures. and require very little maintenance to keep them performing to their optimum potential.

With a long lifespan and easy maintenance, Tecnoter’s Italian engineering provides a premuim wheel washing service, perfect for any industrial site.

Modular and flexible design

Solutions can be configured to suit temporary construction compounds, long-term infrastructure projects and complex site requirements.

Remote monitoring capabilities

Maintain greater visibility of system performance and support efficient maintenance planning.

Smart water management

Tecnoter’s wheel wash for construction sites and industrial environments, feature closed-loop water recycling systems that treat and reuse up to 100% of wash water.

Our physical-chemical treatment units include:

Optional modules such as heating systems, sludge dewatering, sand filtration and asbestos treatment units can be integrated to meet the strictest site and climate requirements.

Two essential functions, one solution: the WashWeighBridge®.

The WashWeighbridge® combines:
  • Automatic wheel washing
  • Vehicle weighing
      …within one integrated solution.

For many construction projects, both functions are essential. Traditionally, this has required two separate pieces of infrastructure.

The WashWeighBridge® offers a smarter alternative.

Free up valuable site space

Wheel washing and vehicle weighing are combined within one footprint, helping optimise site layouts and reduce infrastructure requirements.

Simplify vehicle movements

Vehicles can be washed and weighed within a single operational sequence, helping improve traffic management and operational efficiency.

Reduce operational complexity

One integrated system can simplify installation requirements and ongoing site management.

Maintain greater visibility

Remote monitoring capabilities provide improved visibility of system performance and operational status.

Frequently asked questions

How do Tecnoter's wheel wash systems work?

Tecnoter’s growing range of wheel wash solutions, means that there are options for every site and every need. Whether you need an integrated long-term solution for your site, or a modular, transportable option to serve multiple sites, Tecnoter deliver the highest-quality, heavy-duty wheel wash systems.

Tecnoter’s wheel wash solutions will be installed onto your site, integrated with your current operations, and managed using remote monitoring technology.

Once installed, your vehicles will be able to drive onto the systems whilst automatic jets blast the contamination off the wheels, leaving your vehicle clean, compliant and ready to move back out onto the roads.

The main solution to keeping mud from construction and industrial sites off the road, is to invest in a wheel wash system at your site exits.

Installing a wheel wash at the exits of your sites means that your vehicle’s wheels are jetted down and ready to go back out onto public roads after they’ve finished the work on site. This prevents any mud, contaminants and oils from becoming an environmental and road user hazard.

Regulations require construction sites and waste facilities to prevent mud, oils and contaminants from leaving their site. It is essential that operators comply with environmental protection laws and the highway safety procedures.

The two key risks of mud tracking from construction sites are:

  • Water pollution (environmental protection)
  •  Highway safety

Not only can contaminants pollute local water sources, but mud and contaminants on roads can be a hazard to users. Under the Highways Act 1980, Sections 148, 149 and 161, it is an offence to deposit mud, slurry or debris on a public road.

The underground wheel washers are installed directly into the ground of your site, allowing for vehicles to easily pass over. This on-ground configuration delivers greater structural stability than over-ground models. Underground wheel wash models often have better site integration, smaller footprint and a more efficient effluent treatment system.

For underground wheel washing, take a browse of the Tecnoter ECO Series and E Series models.

Some wheel wash models are transportable, often providing high-performance solutions to construction and industrial sites with lower vehicle trafic but medium level contamination.

The advantages of having a transportable wheel wash on your site are:

  • Provides flexibility across multiple sites
  • Lower capital investment
  • Minimal civil engineering requirements
  • Maintain compliance from day one
  • Suitable for temporary and changing site layouts
  • Reduce road cleaning costs and environmental risk
  • Adapt to site changing requirements
  • Maximise ROI from a single piece of equipment
  • Retain the asset after project completion

Transportable wheel wash systems are perfect for:

  • Landfill and storage sites
  • City and infrastructure constructoin sites
  • Recycling and waste facilities
  • Demolition and environmental remediation
  • Municipal companies and pubic services.

For transportable wheel washing for construction sites, see Tecnoter’s CLBR Series.

The CLBR wheel washer is designed to be installed and moved quickly due to its compact design. Unlike underground models, it requires no complex civil works and is perfect for temporary or seasonal construction sites.
